    • didn't realize this was book two in a series, so felt a little lost at the beginning. the book can be read as a standalone, but there were a few notes I expected if it was a standalone. overall it was a fun fast read, liked the unravelling of the double mysteries (the blackmailing mistress and the long-lost son), but the heroine seems and acts a little too young to be enjoyable. Deirdre seems too under her aunt's thumb and so I agree with the hero's complaints. didn't like the sidekick Pronto Pi [...]
